Behind the name

Symbiosys IT is a global IT solutions and integrations consultancy delivering award-winning services in cloud management, cybersecurity, migration, database management and business solutions.

We have seen substantial growth since being founded in 2004 and now support organisations in over 36 countries, with offices in South Africa, England, Ireland, Canada and Australia.

Symbiosys has the tools, services, skills, and proven track record to be recognised as leading experts in migration services, having migrated more than 500,000 seats over the last 18 years.

We are specialists in solving complex IT issues, including integration, automation, security and compliance, cybersecurity, cloud networking, database management, identity management, end-point management, cloud management and messaging solutions.

The Symbiosys team consists almost exclusively of experienced, senior technicians and consultants who have a strong understanding of not only the technology, but also the human element that helps drive any successful IT project and business partnership. The team forges symbiotic partnerships with their clients, partners and suppliers, with the common goal of collaborating ‘better together’.

The Journey

2004 The business was formed as a partnership of two, focused on IT consultancy as Symbiotech. 

2012 The business merged with its sister company Intellitech and was rebranded Symbiosys.

2013 The UK business was incorporated in order to more easily serve international clients.

2014 The South African business created a distribution division, offering select software to resellers in Africa.

2018 Achieved B-BBEE Level 2 status. Participating in the "Partners for Possibility" programme, assisting with providing education bursaries to High School students.

2022 An Ops Division was created to fulfil a need for corporate clients to provide operations in the form of managed services at an experience level not common within the industry.

2024 In response to global growth and demand, we strategically expanded our reach by establishing a presence in three new territories: Australia, Canada, and Ireland.
