A release is judged by what it takes off your week, not by the length of its notes. KPAX 3.20 takes off one thing in particular: rework. The work your team redoes every time the fleet moves - a site opens, fifteen machines are renewed, a contract changes scope. Four features now handle it for you, and a dozen improvements come with them.
The release at a glance
- Dynamic groupsYour device groups are defined by a filter and keep themselves current.
- LabelsUp to 20 labels per machine, to organize a fleet the way each customer thinks.
- Saved and shared filtersA complex search is built once, named, and shared.
- Earlier predictionAn end-of-cartridge date is predicted from the second reading of the first cycle.
Also in this release: Koins API, faster Kleo, hardened security, finer rule permissions, filtering by print volume.
Four features that stop you maintaining the fleet by hand
Dynamic groups replace the list with a filter. You describe what belongs in the group - a site, a floor, a manufacturer, a device type - and KPAX maintains the membership for you. Two forms coexist, organizational or filtered, and both can be nested. A dynamic group also works as an access level, carries notification rules, and stays available through the API and in MCP.
Labels let you classify every machine against your own criteria: department, site, contract, project, cost center. Up to 20 per device, in free text, applied in bulk by import or automatically through KQL. Your label sets are defined once and show up across every customer fleet.
Saved and shared filters put an end to searches rebuilt every session. You save a filter, name it, mark it as a favorite, and decide whether it stays private, goes to your team, or becomes a standard for the whole organization. Available on devices, agents and accounts.
Earlier prediction moves up the moment you know. A first end-of-cartridge estimate arrives from the second reading of the first cycle, once the level drops below 40 percent, instead of waiting for a full consumption cycle. On a freshly installed machine, that is the difference between a planned delivery and an emergency run.
These four features combine, and that is where they earn their keep. The evergreen article on the KPAX blog walks through how: "Your print fleet organizes itself with KPAX".
Also in this release
Koins API. Koins consumption is accessible through the public API. Kleo. Better answer quality and shorter response time for our conversational agent. Security. Hardened HTTP headers, secure deletion of sensitive items, support account protection. Rule permissions. A user can create and edit rules without being able to delete them. Advanced filter. Redesigned interface, and volume attributes become filtering criteria. Rules and actions. Both lists now share the same layout.
This release also fixes a series of points reported from the field: the public API and MCP on certain spaces, export timestamps and xlsx files, case handling in text filters, boolean rules, and devices displaying without a last collection date.
How to get KPAX 3.20
KPAX runs on a secure cloud, so the features of each new release reach every KPAX space as soon as they ship. Nothing to install, no action on your side. Full release notes are available at any time from the Admin menu in KPAX. It also sits inside a wider estate: see how the rest of our Managed Print Solutions fit together.
Still on KPAX V2? This is a good moment to consider your migration: these features exist on V3 only, and the gap between the two versions widens with every release. Explore KPAX or speak to the team about the upgrade path.
